Addicting games come in all different formats and platforms. Some are made for PCs, others for Xbox, and still yet, some of the most brilliant, for iPhones. Over the past several years since the iPhone's initial release, the market for games formatted for this particular medium has exploded. One game, however, has dominated the rest, and that game is obviously Angry Birds. Why is a graphically simplistic game that is designed for a hand held devices so explosive? Perhaps it is the simplicity itself that helps here. When a game's task is so simple that you can memorize the very moves, actions and results that will occur in the game, those thoughts can be triggered frequently, making you want to play it. Since the game itself in on a device you generally keep in your pocket (or somewhere else close at hand), your ability to play the game is not limited by your location. It's possibly to play at work, school, weddings, funerals, and all sorts of other inappropriate venues. Because the game only has one repetitive task, the perfectionist in you is triggered by just one game play. You KNOW you can do better, and you don't even have to wait til you get home to do it.
